Well, it has, again, been forever since I’ve posted here.

Even after I promised you you’d be hearing from me a lot more often.

I didn’t do the NaNoWriMo thing to its completion, but I wrote some awesome stuff in December when I tried it again with short stories.

I’ve been sick since yesterday. I tried out for tennis yesterday, and I’m pretty sure I made the team.

I’ve been reading The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana by Umberto Eco for the past week or two. I’m on p.316. Before that I read The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear by Walter Moers. That one was amazing, and is, to my best estimation, the longest book I’ve read to date.

Languages : Langues : Lingue

As far as language learning goes, I am currently stuck between French and Italian. French is really common and everywhere and I’d love to know it. But I don’t really want to learn how to speak it. At some point the pronunciation in my mind got so botched that I don’t think I can ever get to the point where when I see a new word I can say it right in my head.

Not so with Italian.

But the part of Italian that scares me is the lui/lei thing. Someone described it very ambiguously as “not exactly he or she, but…”, so I don’t really know what it is.

Plus, I have a ton of French books, so I would have no trouble learning.

Just speaking.

Then there are conlangs I’d like to learn, but what purpose would they serve? What good would speaking fluent Lingua Franca Nova do? None.

Though that’s not true of Toki Pona, because it could teach me to think simplistically, etc.

Who knows. Chances are I won’t take the language learning thing seriously until a college course.

So right now I’ll just have fun with all these conlangs as well as natlangs.

School / Scuola

Well, we’ll preserve this topic for academics only. I’m not doing so hot, evidently. I normally don’t receive my report card, but I did due to pleading. I have an Advanced Placement European History test tomorrow. It’s matching, so I’m not going to study.

I really, really, really want to learn Norwegian, but there’s NO MATERIAL!!!!

It’s awful.

I mean, the Internet is a pretty big place, do they not have like three out of the trillions of webpages to be about Norwegian grammar?! I have a Norwegian Bible and I can’t read it!! Maybe I’ll just guess at grammar by picking verses out.

Not doing so much reading. I got a very minimalist Italian Grammar recently, though, so..

NaNoWriMo

I’m two days behind on writing my satire.

It’s been far too long since I posted on my wordpress blog. I guess I’ll do this so someday down the road I can say “hey, check out my blog” to someone and actually finish the sentence. (As opposed to “hey, ch– nevermind…”)

I do have another blog but that one is solely for my poetry. It’s on the old blogging system: Xanga. I remember when Xanga used to be huge. I guess it’s not anymore.

Or it is, and is only huge for people I don’t know.

I hate things like that. Like MSN messenger. And Skype.

And IRC!!!!

Those were never big around here. In fact, I never even heard anyone talk about them before I started Internet-Exploring (using Firefox, coincidentally).

Age / Tijd?

I have not fallen off the earth, despite popular belief. I turned seventeen two months ago, and I’m feeling happy.

School / School

Well, there’s the musical I’m in at my school coming up.. Fiddler on the Roof. It’s November 8-9. My character is Perchik. I was originally given the lead, but it was taken from me after 2 days and given to someone else; oddly enough, the same guy who both had the lead last year and has my jealousy attributed to him.

Language / Taal

I’ve started really learning Dutch! I like it a lot, and right now is one of those times where each new word is a golden happy experience. I feel like a kid digging with his hands in the front yard!

Sadly, though, one of the books I bought from the Book Nook recently was actually in Flemish, a dialect of Dutch that’s not quite the same. It’s poems anyways, so I probably won’t get to it for a while.

Because it seems most poets like to corrupt and convolute their language as much as they can in their poetry.

Maybe I can read the introduction or something.

Well, Lana and I have had somewhat of an obstacle course to find our way through, and one of the sections of it requires us to separate and find our way back to a place where we can meet again. I’ve been talking with a college girl named Karla, and she’s quite cool, and very interesting. I fear, though, that her family is entirely unlike me and therefore no real relationship can dare become of it. In the meanwhile, I stoke the fire with my stupid charm.

I’m not reading much, I don’t know why I made this a heading.

I’m reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne for school, though. So there it is.

Spiritual / Spiritual

I’ve somewhat fallen out with my relationship with Jesus. I think it’s because I don’t see Him as the type that gets a kick out of answering His children’s prayers. Well, maybe not mine anyway. It seems as though nothing I ask Him for comes to me, and I started to wonder why I should even talk to Him when He knows not only everything that’s going on, but everything that’s going to be going on tomorrow, next year, when I’m thirty, and so on eternally.

I wanted to try something with endings and such instead of the basic romance model I normally use.

But I’ll still be using Romance roots, because that’s just who I am.

This is starting to look like it works like Japanese Romaji… as far as spelling rules go, that is.

Well, that’s the basic verb right there… pretty much all you need.

Now you just need verbs to use like that.

You can make a buttload of sentences with what you’ve got right there.

KANO = dog
KANOMA = dogs

MAMENO = my hand
NAMENO = our hand
DAMENO = his hand

Well, it has been a very long time.

A lot has happened since I last posted here… I chose Italian as my main language focus, and have sadly and unexplainedly since lost the drive to really study in depth… Also, I started to create a conlang*, which I will presumably post in its own page… It has no name as of yet, so.. yeah.

I wrote a poem for national competition for a girl that I really like and am kinda in a thing with… It won 2nd nationally

She really likes me back, and it’s marvelous.

I got an ESV Bible, and since have really been trying to focus on God and what He wants me to do with my life.

So anyone who wants to teach me Italian, or learn Italian with me, please talk to me.

I’ve also recently become interested in voice impersonation… one I am particularly proud of is Vegeta from DragonBall Z… but it hurts my throat so much, I can only do about half a Poe poem before I have to stop and clear it.

Another thing I would like to do is animate Flash.. I have everything I need to get started, but I just don’t have the time or the skill to create anything as of yet.
